Current Work

This is my newest series, still in progress, exploring femininity, mischief, and sorcery through images of women and various magical objects. The work draws upon the connections between women, nature, and magic. Created using a similar technique to traditional American tattoo flash illustrations, this series seeks to connect modern with ancient, feminine with rough, our world with the next. The textures in the coffee-stained paper are different in every painting, the end result left to chance. The images themselves, deliberately bold and heavily-lined, the colors deep and altered by the background. The women featured are queens in their craft, warriors of the spiritual plane, sorceresses that bridge the gap between the physical and spiritual realms. The objects shown are talismans, conducting the power of each woman.
